A rock hard body in 27 minutes a week YEAH ??

OK OK I hear you say, another bunch of pie in the sky !! Well wait a minute......If I could prove to you beyond any doubt that it is indeed not only a possibility, but a GUARANTEED reality......would you be interested ?

Well you see around six years ago, I was working in the timeshare industry in Sydney Australia. We were living a pretty hectic lifestyle, but we were earning great money, and in that environment there was plenty of social activity.......lots of parties, drinking and especially eating out. Together with that was the rush rush of a daily routine, there was never enough time to cook, so it was fast food for breakfast and lunch, and out for dinner every night.

Then that fateful morning, when you go to put your pants on, and you realise that you are sucking in a sizeable gut just to button up your waste band, and reality bites......God I'm fat !!!!!  So how are you going to lose it ? I really haven't got time to spend hours in the gym, besides I HATE jogging and treadmills.......PANIC !!

I've got to loose some weight

So I started to research in what little time I had.....was there really a way to solve my problem....in my time frame. More by luck than judgement I stumbled across a method called static contraction training. This system works on the basis that a muscle only grows if you push it to the point of distress......and then give it adequate time to recover. Hmmmm !!  Interesting I thought. You see the fact of the matter is that a muscle doesn't grow DURING the training or exercise time, but in the 48 hour period AFTER .....so just to illustrate take a simple exercise like a bicep curl. The body building experts will tell you that you need to do dozens of short sharp repetitions to achieve any kind of growth. Static Contraction Training says that you only move the muscle the last two inches of the curl, with as much weight as you can manage to complete 10 curls. If you can do more than 10 you need to add more weight......if you cannot manage 10 then you have too much weight, however, that last curl has to take you to the point of distress......unable to complete another curl. Then you rest the muscle for at least 48 hours, during which time it is not only repaired and restored, but it actually grows !!  When you exercise the muscle again, you add an extra 5 lbs and by using this method you build solid lean muscle.

But It Gets even better

Now here's the kicker......muscle needs to be energized, so in order to get what it needs to grow it burns calories  AWESOME  !! so I can ADD muscle and BURN fat......WOW I think I am on to something here. After further study, I found an exercise system that consisted of just 10 exercises each of 10 seconds duration performed this way. On day one you do 5 of the exercises.....actual exercise time 50 seconds......then you rest for two days......do the next 5 exercises..... another 50 seconds.....then rest for two days.....then add 5 lbs to the weight and repeat the first 5 exercises with the extra payload.......THAT"S IT !!!   Oh no no no, this HAS to be too good to be true !!

Time to put it to the test

So I thought OK that's the theory.....does it work ?  only one way to find out. Andy was a real good mate, and I knew that he had been talking about going to the gym, so over a coffee I told him about what I had found, and almost finished up with a face-full of half chewed blueberry cheesecake as he choked with laughter !!. You're not serious are you mate ? Yes deadly serious. Well being a bit of a gym buff, Andy proceeded to give me a hundred reasons why it wouldn't work, but despite all the protests, our friendship allowed him to at least consider, and we arranged to put it to the test the very next day. We rocked up to the gym, did a 20 minute warm up on the treadmill, and some simple stretching exercises, and with the air conditioning threatening to blow our hastily downloaded and printed instructions all over the floor, set about our first really embarrassing effort at static contraction training......hilarious !!! the hardened and seasoned gym junkies looked at us as if we were total fruitloops....some of them tried to explain to us how we SHOULD be working out, while others flexed huge muscles in our faces as much as to say....now THAT'S a chic magnet !!

Well despite all the attention, Andy and I worked out our routine by trial and error, much to the amusement of the junkies, and when we were done and finished in around 9 minutes flat.....they almost fell apart as we farewelled them. Two days later we were back for part two, and again with our warm up we were in , changed, warmed up exercised showered and out in less than an hour. Back at work, Andy commented, mate I am really beginning to think something is happening here. We continued for the next three weeks, and we were staggered at the progress we were making......we could SEE results.....we WERE losing fat and GAINING muscle and the gym junkies were beginning to notice too.  After just 6 weeks people were starting to comment, and ask us what we were doing.....it seemed everyone wanted to know just how we were managing to spend so much time in the gym !!! and it will work for you too.
